T.E. Woods Homes began in 1974 when Tom Woods founded T.E. Woods Construction. Tom worked previously as a framing carpenter and brick mason allowing him to develop his trade skills and attract other skilled craftsmen to create the quality construction his home buyers deserved.

Tom has over 30 years of hands on knowledge in home building. His drive for quality lead T.E.Woods Homes to be selected as “Builder of the Year” for the Greater Kansas City Area in 1995, and Professional Builder Magazine recognized T.E. Woods Home as one of the top home builders in the nation in 1998.

T.E. Woods Homes expertise is exhibited in numerous communities in the Kansas City area with over 1,000 families living in our homes. Tom’s son Shawn, after 15 years of working side by side with his father, took over the day to day operations of the construction company in 1999. Through Shawn's leadership, T.E.Woods Homes continues to grow and refine the company’s goal of developing the highest quality communities in Kansas City.
